Digital Meet Up #4: DFT Pioneers Meet to talk about Digitalisation for Energy Management

DFT DMU digitalisation for energy management

On June 6th, 2024, the fourth Digital Meetup of the Decarb Fast Track (DFT) community brought together pioneers to explore how to leverage digitalisation for energy management to reach energy efficiency and optimisation goals. The session focused on transforming raw data into actionable insights to drive improvements in energy performance.

Turning Data into Energy Efficiency Insights

Zoé Meunier, METRON’s Product Marketing Manager, began the session by emphasizing the importance of processing raw data for use in energy dashboards. Key steps like data qualification, consistency checks, and managing data interruptions are crucial for ensuring reliable energy tracking and reporting.

Inspiring Pioneer Testimonials

The event featured insights from a Decarb Fast Track pioneer, an energy efficiency engineer at HERO. He shared his experience of developing automated daily and weekly energy reports using digital platforms, allowing him to streamline energy reviews and disseminate key insights to his teams.

Next, Baptiste Rialland, Energy Expert at METRON, led a discussion on energy data analysis, presenting tools available on METRON’s Energy Management and Optimization (EMOS) platform. These tools offer detailed insights for improving energy performance through digitalisation.

A notable case study came from Rivo Rakotondramaro, a process and energy monitoring engineer at Malteries Franco-Suisses (Boortmalt Group). By using the platform’s analytical tools, the group achieved over 10% energy savings, highlighting the potential of digitalisation in energy management to drive significant results.

The Potential of Data Science for Decarbonisation

The event concluded with a presentation of EnergyLab, METRON’s data science studio, dedicated to empowering energy professionals with advanced analytics to support decarbonisation goals.

Looking Forward

Each DFT Digital Meetup highlights how digitalisation for energy management can reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.
