Safran Helicopter Engines Brings Together a Community of Manufacturers at the Bordes Site for the Inauguration of the European Decarb Fast Track Program

To accelerate the exchange of best practices in energy efficiency, Safran Helicopter Engines have organized a visit to the Bordes site (Pyrénées Atlantiques, France) on Wednesday, April 5, to mark the inauguration of the Decarb Fast Track program. The goal of the Decarb Fast Track program is to save up to 100,000 metric tons of CO2 by equipping 100 industrial sites with an energy management solution developed by METRON, DALKIA, BNP PARIBAS and AWS.
Decarbonizing the industrial sector is a strategic challenge, as it accounts for 20% of CO2 emissions. Safran Helicopter Engines, the world leader in helicopter engines, has already been implementing an ambitious energy efficiency program at its industrial sites for several years, notably by measuring and, more recently, controlling its energy consumption through real-time control.
A session to share best practices and feedback between manufacturers, energy sector professionals and local and national public authorities, and a visit to the Safran Helicopter Engines site in Bordes, France, will illustrate the potential of digitalized energy management to decarbonize industrial sites, in the run-up to the green reindustrialization bill to be presented by the government to Parliament next summer.
The visit will also be an opportunity to inaugurate the Decarb Fast Track industry decarbonization program. Launched at the end of 2022 by METRON, DALKIA, BNP PARIBAS and AWS (Amazon Web Services), this European program aims to save up to 100,000 tons of CO2 by equipping 100 industrial sites with a greatly subsidized real-time energy management solution. This program is based on the deployment of METRON’s solution, which helps users visualize, monitor, optimize, and create models for energy performance using artificial intelligence, to improve the energy efficiency strategies of industrial companies. Decarb Fast Track has been referenced by the Ministry of Ecological Transition as a “case study” in the Industry component of the Energy Sobriety Plan announced in October 2022.
The event will create a space for privileged exchanges, to promote the sharing of good practices and feedback from professionals from various sectors of industry committed to the decarbonization of their activities, to create a favorable ground for action. It will bring together players from the public, private, and media spheres: energy sector professionals, journalists, local and national public players, as well as some of the pioneering industries that have been selected for the Decarb Fast Track program. The visit to the Safran Helicopter Engines site is a tangible demonstration of the potential of digitalization to contribute to the decarbonization of the industrial sector, as well as the driving role that private players can play in mobilizing for the ecological transition through concrete actions.
